Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara has been going places ever since its Kannada version released in theatres on September 30. The unprecedented love that the film steeped in folklore received from the audience forced the makers to release the action thriller in other languages including Hindi.
Kantara, which is also written and directed by Rishab, is garnering heavy praise for depicting Bhoota Kola, a spirit worship ritual which is a part of Hindu Dharma. The film has created such an impact that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Karnataka government has announced a monthly allowance of Rs 2000 for Daiva Narthakas above 60 years of age.
PC Mohan, a member of Lok Sabha, took to Twitter to inform the public about the government’s move and wrote that he is also adoring Daivas, dance, and divine intervention from Kantara.
“Adoring Daivas, dance, and divine intervention. The BJP-led #Karnataka government has announced a Rs 2,000 monthly allowance for ‘Daiva Narthakas’ above 60 years of age. Bhoota Kola, a spirit worship ritual depicted in the movie #Kantara is part of Hindu Dharma,” read PC Mohan’s tweet.
