Revealed! Why tickets for Day 1 of 4th IND-AUS Test in Ahmedabad are locked out, leaving fans disheartened

After the change in the venue for the third Test from Dharamsala to Indore, the fans were in for more disappointment as they won’t be able to watch the first day of the fourth match at Ahmedabad between India and Australia live from the stadium. Yes, you read that right, the tickets for Day 1 of the fourth Test starting March 9 at the Narendra Modi Stadium have been ‘locked out’ as both sets of fans – India and Australia – will miss the Day 1 action.
As per Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), some seats have been locked out since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese will be in attendance at Motera on Thursday, March 9. As per a report by The Times of India, the presence of the two leaders may have led to the decision and it is unknown if the booking will open on a later date.
“As both the Prime Ministers of India and Australia will be in attendance on the first day of the fourth Test here, some seats have been ‘locked out’,” a GCA official was quoted as saying in the report. A specific reason for locking the tickets was not given.
The decision has left the fans disheartened given many would have been travelling from different states all over India and the world and they would have had their flights and hotels booked. with the Test matches not stretching more than three days, the fans will be disappointed to miss out on the Day 1 action, which has provided the most action in the three previous games.
As far as the series is concerned, Team India is still leading it 2-1, however, they have all to play for in the Ahmedabad decider given a World Test Championship (WTC) final spot is at stake after Australia won the Indore clash by 9 wickets.
