Reporter tells Lionel Messi what he means to the world. Argentine legend’s reaction is PRICELESS

Argentine legend Lionel Messi once again proved his class as he helped Argentina book a ticket to the final in FIFA World Cup 2022 with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Croatia in the first semi-final of the showpiece event. Apart from scoring the opening goal for Argentina, Messi magical assist was also converted in a goal by Julian Alvarez. Social media went bonkers following Messi Magic in Qatar. In a video which has gone viral on social media, one of the female reporters poured her heart out to Messi, explaining what he means to her and millions of football fans.
Like millions of Messi fans, in one of the most heartwarming post-match interviews, Television Publica reporter Sofia Martinez told Messi that irrespective of what happens in the final, he has brought so much joy to millions of football fans.
“I just want to tell you that no matter the result there’s something that no one can take from you and is the fact you resonated with Argentinians, every single one. I’m being serious. There’s no kid who doesn’t have the team shirt, no matter if it’s a fake, real or a made-up one.
“Truly, you made your mark in everyone’s life and that, that to me is beyond winning any World Cup. No one can take that from you and this is my gratitude.
“For such amount of happiness you bring to a lot of people, I seriously hope you take these words into your heart because I really believe that’s more important than winning a World Cup and you already have it. So thank you, captain.”
By scoring the opening goal against Croatia, Messi became Argentina’s leading goal-scorer in World Cups with 11 goals to his name. The Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate might come to an end if Argentina go on to lift the 2022 World Cup title.
Earlier, Messi confirmed that the 2022 World Cup final will be his last match for Argentina.
“I feel very happy, to be able to achieve this, to finish my World Cup journey by playing my last game in a final,” Reuters quoted Messi as saying in a statement to Argentine media outlet Diario Deportivo Ole.
Playing in his fifth World Cup, Messi said his side would try its best to ensure Argentina lift the World Cup title in Qatar.
“It’s many years for the next one and I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. And to finish like this, it’s the best. It’s all well and good (the records), but the important thing is to be able to achieve the group objective, which is the most beautiful thing of all. We’re just one step away, after fighting hard, and we’re going to give everything to try to make it happen this time,” added Messi.
