Ranveer Singh nude photoshoot: After lodging FIR, Mumbai Police summon Bollywood actor for further investigation

In a latest development in the Ranveer Singh nude photoshoot row, the Mumbai Police have issued a notice to the superstar and have asked him to appear before them on August 22 for further investigation in connection with his naked pictures that went viral on the internet.
As per the latest update, the cops went to Ranveer’s Mumbai residence to serve him the notice but he wasn’t present at that time. The Bajirao Mastani actor is required to join the investigation on August 22 and will also be recording his statement on the matter.
Earlier, an FIR was registered against Ranveer by the Mumbai Police under IPC section 292 (obscenity, sale or exhibiting publicly material for sale), section 293 (sale of obscene objects to young persons), and section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of women).
The FIR was based on the complaint filed against the 37-year-old actor by an NGO called Shyam Mangaram Foundation. In their complaint, the NGO accused Ranveer of hurting the sentiments of women at large.
“Last week we saw many nude photographs were clicked in such a manner that any make or female will feel ashamed about it.” The complaint further adds “these kinds of acts should be opposed strongly, as it is not being opposed then second and third rank actors will also follow the same path for getting cheap publicity which will result in a worst condition,” read a part of the complaint.
Ranveer took social media by storm when he stripped for a magazine photoshoot. The pictures were circulated widely on the internet and in no time became a hot topic of discussion.
A number of Bollywood celebs including Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor came out in Ranveer’s support after the images created an online uproar.
