After a long gap of four years, Ranbir Kapoor is all geared up to enthral the audience with two massive releases this year. Last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju in 2018, the superstar will be making a comeback with Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera and will then appear in his most ambitious project to date – Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
With Shamshera set to release next month, Ranbir has kickstarted the promotions for the film. In one of his recent conversations with an online portal, the 39-year-old actor talked about a number of things.
When asked to name his favourite leading lady, Ranbir told Mashable, “I would say Anushka Sharma. I think we are really close friends, we annoy each other a lot, we keep fighting and we have a really good creative energy between us.”
Ranbir and Anushka have so far worked together in three films, Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Sanju.
Speaking about his favourite co-star, Ranbir said there are many and named Saurabh Shukla as one of them. “My favourite co-star, so many. Well one is an actor I have worked on three films with, his name is Saurabh Shukla. I did Barfi, Jagga Jasoos and now Shamshera with him.”
Talking about Shamshera, the Yash Raj Films production stars Vaani Kapoor in the female lead and Sanjay Dutt in a villainous avatar. Set in the 1800s, the period action drama will hit the screens on July 22.
On the other hand, Brahmastra, which marks Ranbir’s very first onscreen collaboration with his wife Alia Bhatt, will release on September 9. The ensemble cast of the adventure fantasy includes Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy.
If reports are to be believed, Brahmastra, produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions, will also have cameo appearances from two superstars – Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
