Nikhil Siddhartha’s Karthikeya 2, which was released on August 13, has emerged as a winner at the box office. At the time, when Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan did not create an impact at the box office, the Telugu film Karthikeya 2 outperformed Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar’s latest release film.
Now, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma lauded the film and compared it with Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan‘s earnings at the box office. He pointed out in his tweet that Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha minted Rs 1.49 crore and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan earned Rs 1.01 crore while Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 earned Rs 3.04 crore, which is double of Laal Singh Chaddha‘s earnings and triple of Raksha Bandhan‘s earnings at the box office.
He tweeted, “Yesterday Åamîr Khan’s LSC is 1.49, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha bhandan is 1.01 and Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2 is 3.04 which is double of LSC,triple of RB and 50 L more than LSC and RB put together.HATS off to @actor_nikhil @abhishekofficl and @chandoomondeti for this impossible feat.”

The Telugu fantasy adventure Karthikeya 2 is showing a constant upward trend at the box office. The film earned Rs 60 crore in its first week worldwide.
Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha fizzled out a week after its release. Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan earned just Rs 28 crore at the domestic box office in its first weekend. The total collection stands at Rs 38.6 crore.
