Ram Charan says nothing about films was bought home during his childhood, reveals father Chiranjeevi’s reaction when he asked for acting advice

Days ahead of RRR, the film’s team including superstars Jr NTR and Ram Charan and director SS Rajamouli are busy promoting the film. The RRR team is touring cities, and just recently, the trio promoted RRR at the Indian pavilion of Expo 2020. The team talked in length about keeping their spirits high during the phase when the film’s shooting was delayed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was during this time that Ram Charan opened up about working with SS Rajamouli for the second time. The actor revealed that even though he hails from a film family, nothing related to movies was bought home during his childhood.
“Although I come from a film family, my father brought me up in such a way that nothing about movies, magazines, industry, awards, fans or anything related to work was brought home. It was always confined to office. There was no trace of films for me,” he said. He added that even when he was starting off, his father Chiranjeevi never told him how to be or how to act.
After his first film, Ram Charan recalled, that he went to his father to ask as to how he should get better as an actor. “After my first film, when I went to him and asked about how to better myself in acting, he said nothing. He really wanted me to have my own journey,” he revealed.
It was then that he started his journey with SS Rajamouli, whom he calls his headmaster or dean.
He also opened up about how he has learnt so much from SS Rajamouli. “He is not only a director, master storyteller but also my mentor, my guru. I don’t know what my dad is going to feel but I have to say Rajamouli taught me more about cinema than my dad,” he said.
Slated for a release on March 25, 2022, the film also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in lead roles.
