‘Ram and Shyam ki Jodi’: Asaduddin Owaisi takes dig at Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi  trained guns at political parties in Maharashtra, including the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Taking a dig at Thackeray and Supriya Sule, Owaisi said that if these politicians could become leaders due to the virtue of their fathers then Muslims of Maharashtra could also emerge as leaders.
During his rally in Maharashtra’s Mumbra, Owaisi slammed the Shiv Sena. He said, “They say save secularism, is Shiv Sena secular?” Oawisi also called Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde “Ram and Shyam ki jodi”.
Lashing out at leaders belonging to political families, the AIMIM chief said, “When NCP’s Ajit Pawar, and Supriya Sule can become leaders, Uddhav Thackeray can become a leader solely on the virtue of being his father’s son, Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis can become leaders, can’t Maharashtra’s Muslims be like Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Shinde.”
Owaisi asked Muslims to get united. He stated, “You can’t become one just by raising slogans. Unite, cast your votes & become leaders. When talks will be held, you will be able to look them in the eyes.”
The AIMIM chief also slammed the Congress and the NCP for not speaking against the renaming of Aurangabad and Osmanabad cities of Maharashtra. Notably, Owaisi is in Maharashtra for attending AIMIM’s two-day conference in Thane’s Mumbra area on February 25 and 26. Notably, civic polls are due in early 2023 in several cities of the state, including Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad.
