But just like he mastered his professional life, he aced his personal and romantic life too. He is married to Latha Rajinikanth, who is an Indian film producer and playback singer. The duo tied the knot on February 26, 1981, and now the couple celebrates 39 years of marital bliss. But then this is the information that is well-known; what most people don’t know is how the duo found love in each other.

The Tamil icon’s meeting with Latha happened at an interview that the latter was supposed to host. At that time, Rajinikanth was shooting for one of his flicks Thillu Mallu, when he was informed that an interview has been scheduled under his name. As the legend goes, it was Latha Rangachari who came for the interview, and just like most fairytale-like romances, Rajinikanth, too experienced love at first sight. What melts us the most is that by the end of the interview, Rajini was so drawn to her that he instantly proposed her for marriage.

Latha, however, told him that if he wants to take the wedding vows with her, he must meet her parents and ask for her hand and that is what Thalaiva Rajini did!

From seeking her hand in marriage to living happily ever after for over 39 years, Rajini found love in Latha by chance. The duo has been blessed with two beautiful daughters Aishwarya R Dhanush and Soundarya Rajinikanth.
