Jos Buttler will continue his association with the Royals’ family as he has been signed up by Paarl Royals (PR) for the CSA T20 League. Paarl Royals is the sister franchise of Rajasthan Royals (RR), who made it to the final of IPL 2022. All the franchises in the CSA T20 league are bought by the owners who own the teams in IPL as well. Hence, the owners are eyeing to acquire the services of players who are already part of their group.
Buttler first joined RR in 2018 and was retained by them before the IPL 2022 mega auction. He played a key role in RR’s success this year and piled up 863 runs in 17 matches. Apart from Buttler, PR have also acquired the services of West Indies pacer, Obed McCoy. The left-arm pacer is part of RR in IPL.
David Miller is the third player to be signed up by PR. Miller is a former RR player. The Sanju Samson-led side wanted to re-sign him but missed out. Corbin Bosch is the fourth player to join PR.
The teams in CSA league were given a window to make pre-auction signings and all the teams are done with the task. The auction for the league will take place later this year. Cricket South Africa hasn’t unveiled the name of the T20 league.
Other teams who have signed up their ‘IPL players’
The Super Kings group has signed up Moeen Ali and has picked up Faf du Plessis. Plessis isn’t part of CSK now but he had a long association with them. The RPSG group has signed up Jason Holder, Quinton de Kock and Kyle Mayers. The CSA league is scheduled to kick off in 2023.
