On July 19 (Monday), UK-based businessman and Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra was arrested for allegedly producing and distributing pornographic content. He was nabbed by the crime branch of the Mumbai Police and has now been remanded to judicial custody till July 23. Ever since the news surfaced online, women from the entertainment industry have come out in the open with their allegations.
Popular models like Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra have shared their take on the issue, meanwhile, a popular YouTuber Puneet Kaur also levied allegations against the businessman. Let’s talk about the women in question in detail.
In an interaction with ETimes, Poonam Pandey shared, “I collaborated with the company for an app named after me in March 2019. We had agreed upon a certain percentage of the revenue generated by the app to be given to me. However, I realised certain discrepancies in revenue sharing and hence, decided to terminate the contract. I also informed them about the same via email. They continue to post my pictures and videos on the app.”
Meanwhile, another model Sagrika shared her audition story that also involved Raj. She claimed that she was asked to do “nude video chat” over a Whatsapp call. While speaking to ABP News, she also claimed that Shilpa’s role must be probed too.
YouTuber Puneet Kaur took to Instagram and shared snippets of news clippings of the case and wrote, “Brooo do you OGS remember our verified DM video where he reached out to me for hotshots!?!? Im deaaad.” She further wrote, “I can’t even WTF this mans was really luring people -we literally thought it was spam when he sent that DM to me!? Jesus Christ man rot in jail.”
According to Sherlyn Chopra’s statement, the actress has, so far, done about 15 to 20 projects for Raj for which she was paid a hefty amount of Rs 30 lakh per project
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale also shared a statement on the subject and said, “Businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Crime Branch in a case relating to the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. He appears to be the key conspirator. We have sufficient evidence regarding this. We have arrested Raj Kundra in this case on July 19, 2021, as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this. The investigation is in progress.”
