Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hit out at Rahul Gandhi for claiming there is “hatred in India” and stressed that the Congress leader is “defaming” the country by making such claims.
While addressing a gathering in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli, Singh said, “I ask Rahul Gandhi who is holding Bharat Jodo Yatra in the country and saying there is hatred in the country, who is giving birth to hatred in the country?”
“India is being defamed by saying there is hatred in the country. What has happened to you Rahul ji?” he asked.
The Defence Minister then highlighted the major change in the import/export business in the country.
“Earlier we used to import everything for defence sector from other nations, including warplanes, missiles, warships and bombs but now we have decided to make everything in India itself and also back other countries by exporting,” said Rajnath Singh.
Talking about the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, he said, “MP govt is fully committed to the welfare of the poor people, that is the mantra and goal of every BJP govt. We have fulfilled every promise that we made during polls. Our actions & words always match unlike other political parties.”
The Bharat Jodo Yatra is in its final leg and was joined by many known faces till now. The Yatra is to conclude in Srinagar on January 30.
The march started from Kanyakumari on September 7 and entered Jammu and Kashmir from Punjab on Thursday. It is scheduled to end in Srinagar on January 30 with hoisting of national flag at Congress headquarters by Gandhi.
