The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on a grand scale. This year marks the 115th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, who played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement and was hanged by the British colonialists.
The AAP Secretariat, which is celebrating the first birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh in power, will observe the occasion on September 28. To mark the occasion, the state government has announced that patriotic songs will be played in all state-sponsored and private buses to pay respects to the freedom fighter.
According to media reports, the state transport department has received instructions from the government in this regard. In a letter to the department, the government has issued a directive to play patriotic songs to mark the 115th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh.
Meanwhile, the State Transport Commissioner issued further orders to the secretaries of all the regional transport authorities of the state on September 23 and directed them to follow the government orders.
This order of the government will be valid in all government and private buses.

Apart from playing patriotic songs in buses, Pathankot’s District Collector Harbir Singh held a meeting with the HODs of the group departments and asked them to hoist the tricolor at every house on martyr Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary. He also asked them to light diyas at their houses.
The DC had also issued orders to the officers of the Panchayat Departments to create awareness regarding the celebrations. Painting competitions will also be held in the schools.
