Late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s sudden demise left everyone in deep sorrow. He passed away on October 29, 2021, due to cardiac arrest. After his demise, the actor has been remembered by his fans and celebs across the country. And now, the Karnataka government has decided to posthumously honour Puneeth Rajkumar with Karnataka Ratna Award on November 1, on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava.
Well, the government’s announcement must have left Puneeth Rajkumar fans happy. The late Sandalwood star will be honoured in front of Vidhan Soudha, Bengaluru. The Chief Minister of Karnataka will be awarding the actor for his outstanding contribution to the Kannada film industry, language and culture of Karnataka.
While addressing the media, the Karnataka CM said that eight people have been honoured with this award, however, it had not been given to anybody since 2009. The minister decided Puneeth’s name at a meeting with senior officials, ministers and family members of the actor.
Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai said, “Puneeth Rajkumar is a real Karnataka Ratna as he has remained in the hearts of people permanently through his achievements during his life. He must always be the source of inspiration for youths and for this purpose, this award will be given to him posthumously.”
The ceremony will be attended by celebrities, MLAs, achievers and litterateurs. The function will take place on November 1 at 5 pm on the grand stairs of Vidhana Soudha.
Talking about Puneeth Rajkumar, the actor had acted in films such as Appu, Milana, Arasu, Raaj – The Showman, Raam, Prithvi, Anna Bond, Ninnindale, Mythri, Chakravyuha, Yuvarathnaa, Luck Man, James and so on.
