Ever since Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra got married to American singer Nick Jonas, fans are more than invested in what the couple is up to. From gushing about their compliments for each other to being in absolute awe when they upload cosy moments with one another, fans seem to want to know everything that’s happening in the couples’ lives. So when Priyanka decided to change her name from Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Priyanka Chopra, fans couldn’t help but wonder what happened. The interest piqued so much that it started rumours of things not being well between the two.
Now, months after Priyanka dropped Jonas from her social media surname, the actress has finally talked about the scrutiny surrounding her decision.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, for which Priyanka has turned a muse, the actress said that the attention on her social media activity is a “professional hazard”.
She also said that it’s a very vulnerable feeling since even if she posts a photograph, everything about that is decoded. “It’s a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that’s behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate. It’s just a professional hazard…” she said.
The actress also added that because of the noise of social media and the prevalence that it has in our lives, things seem a lot larger than they actually are. “I think that we give it a lot more credence in real life, and I don’t think it needs that,” she added.
The actress, who is one of the most followed actresses on the photo-sharing platform, is followed by over 72 million people. The actress, in turn, only follows 664 people on Instagram.
Priyanka is currently creating waves online after photos of her drop-dead gorgeous photoshoot for the magazine surfaced online. The actress flaunted one too many bold looks for the shoot, and the result is an album for the keeps. Priyanka’s photo in an off-shoulder red sheer dress has certainly received a thumbs up from the fashion critics.
