‘Pre-planned conspiracy’: BJP’s Madhya Pradesh chief alleges PFI ‘sponsored’ Khargone riots

BJP’s Madhya Pradesh chief VD Sharma  called the Khargone riots a pre-planned conspiracy and alleged that it was sponsored by the Popular Front of India (PFI), an extremist Islamic organisation in India.
“Madhya Pradesh is a peaceful state, if in such a state, procession were attacked then it suggests a pre-planned conspiracy by organisations like PFI. Strict action should be taken against miscreants,” Sharma told ANI.
He also hit out at former Madhya Pradesh CM and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh saying that people like him are promoting PFI.
Madhya Pradesh Police had on Tuesday registered a case against Singh for allegedly conspiring to instigate communal violence by posting misleading tweets.
The FIR was filed based on the complaint of one Prakash Mande, a resident of Bhopal. The case was registered under sections 153A, 295A, 465, 505 (2) of IPC. Mande complained that Singh posted a fabricated photo that might instigate communal violence.
Responding to the FIR registered against him over his alleged fabricated tweet that he deleted later, the former Madhya Pradesh CM said if they want to file a case against me for speaking against communal violence and promoting harmony, then I don’t care even if they file one lakh cases against me.
The situation in the Khargone city of Madhya Pradesh has been tense after communal violence broke out on the occasion of the Ram Navami celebration. Following this, the state government has ordered for demolishing of buildings of those involved in violence.
