Days after skirmish between Indian and Chinese soldiers along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh, monks of Tawang Monastery warned China saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not spare anyone.
One of the monks at the monastery denied any claims of China on Tawang and said it is an integral part of India.
While speaking to media, Lama Yeshi Khawo said, “PM Modi will not spare anyone. We support Indian army. Chinese government always goes after other countries’ territories and it’s totally wrong. They also eye Indian land.
“If they want peace in the world, then they shouldn’t do this,” he added.
The monk went on to assert that Tawang Monastery has full trust in the Indian government and the Indian Army, who will keep Tawang secure. During the 1962 war, the monks of this monastery helped Indian Army, he claimed.
Chinese government claims that Tawang is also part of Tibet, but Tawang is an integral part of India, said Khawo.
Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama said that India is a perfect place and his permanent residence and that he prefers India.
The developments have come in the backdrop of December 9 clash where People’s Liberation Army troops contacted the LAC in Tawang Sector which was contested by Indian troops in a firm and resolute manner. This face-off led to minor injuries to a few personnel from both sides.
