M Modi on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the recent attacks on the United Arab Emirates, which has faced some of the most intense strikes among Gulf nations since the US-Israel conflict with Iran began on February 28.

Reiterated India’s strong condemnation of all attacks on the UAE that have resulted in loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure. We agreed on the importance of ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. We will continue to work together for the early restoration of peace, security and stability in the region.”

Since the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28, Iran has launched hundreds of missiles and drones in retaliation, targeting US bases and assets across several Gulf countries. However, reports indicate that the UAE has been the most affected.
According to the latest data released by Abu Dhabi’s Ministry of Defence on March 15, the country’s air defence systems have intercepted 298 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,606 drones so far.
