After Diwali, now the farmers are hoping to get good news during Chhath Puja. The extended wait for Rs 2000 financial aid under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’ has left them speculating about when the payment will arrive. Although an official confirmation regarding the new date is still pending, reports indicate that the money will be transferred before the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections 2025.

Eligible farmers across several states are expected to get the PM Kisan 21st Installment before November 6, 2025. Payments have already been released into the accounts of beneficiaries in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. As farmers look forward to receiving the payment soon, let’s find out if banks will remain closed or open on Monday, October 27 and 28, on the occasion of Chhath puja.

The festive holiday is specific to certain states, and banking operations elsewhere in the country will proceed as normal, based on announcements from RBI’s regional offices.

Bihar: Banks will remain closed in the state on October 27 and 28 for evening and morning Puja.

Jharkhand: The state will observe a two-day holiday on October 27 and 28

West Bengal: Banks will remain closed on October 27 only, in observance of the evening Chhath Puja.

There are, however, chances that the Central Government may release the 21st installment in other states during this time.

Do This To Receive Payment On Time

To receive timely payment, farmers must complete the e-KYC verification, land verification, and check whether the bank account is DBT-enabled. To do this, visit the official portal of PM Kisan (pmkisan.gov.in) and complete their e-KYC online using their Aadhaar number and OTP. Alternatively, eligible farmers can go to nearby CSC centers or banks for verification of biometrics.

Steps To Check PM KISAN 21st Installment Status

Here’s how you can check the ‘PM Kisan 21st Installment’ status:

  • Visit: pmkisan.gov.in
