PF balance check: The government has launched a major update for members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), making access to key digital services easier. EPFO recently said that members can view their documents and check their PF balance directly using the DigiLocker app on Android smartphones. With the update, members can now access and download important EPFO documents like the Pension Payment Order (PPO), UAN card, and Scheme Certificate via DigiLocker.

Earlier, the UMANG app offered EPFO members the facility to access and download their PF passbook. DigiLocker now makes the process more convenient, while the UMANG app remains active.

PF balance check: Steps to access EPFO portal

-Log on to the EPFO portal.

-Find the “For Employees” section.

-From the menu, choose the “Member Passbook” option.

-Enter your UAN and password to log in.

-You will now be able to check your PF balance and passbook details after logging in.

Steps to check via DigiLocker

-Download the DigiLocker app on your smartphone from the app store.

-Create a new account by registering and logging in on the app.

-Use your Aadhaar to link your EPFO

-Follow the steps to sync your EPFO account

-After logging in, head to the EPFO section under Documents to access your passbook, UAN card, and PPO. You can also check your balance and transaction details directly in the app.

-If you don’t have internet or run into issues with the app, you can still view your PF balance through the EPFO Member Portal, the UMANG app, or by SMS.

PF balance check: Steps to check on SMS or missed call

First, ensure your mobile number is linked to your UAN. Send an SMS in the format “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899, and you’ll receive your latest PF balance and details.

You can also check your balance using a missed call. Make sure your mobile number is connected to your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account. Give a missed call to 9966044425, and you’ll get an SMS with your PF account information shortly.
