As a result, the Asian Cricket Council adopted a hybrid model, with some matches held in Pakistan and others, including the final, taking place in Sri Lanka.

A similar approach might be used for the Champions Trophy, considering the significant revenue India generates, which could lead to substantial losses for the ICC if India opts out. A source from the BCCI indicated that India is unlikely to tour Pakistan, but noted that the final decision will be made by the Indian government.
