After almost five years, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make a comeback on the big screen with his upcoming film, Pathaan. The movie is releasing on January 25, 2023 in theatres. Ever since the makers released the first song ‘Besharam Rang’ of the film Pathaan, several people on social media, especially from right-wing groups such as Bajrang Dal, Vishva Hindu Parishad and others opposed it. Many people took objection over Deepika Padukone’s saffron-coloured bikini in the song. As we all know, in Gujarat, the cops have given security to theatres after some group of people staged protests against Pathaan outside theatres.
Sadly, Mumbai Police has not yet given any security to theatres, and Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir’s theatre owner Manoj Desai has an issue with that.
No security from Mumbai Police to theatres amid Pathaan release
Manoj Desai exclusively interacted where he expressed his disappointment over Mumbai Police and Maharashtra government for not providing security to the theatres amid Pathaan’s release. He said, “I have arranged security on my own at Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir. Unfortunately, we haven’t got police security.”
“Gujarat, Kanpur, Lucknow, UP and other cities’ theatres got police protection. However, here in Maharashtra, all are busy with Eknath Shinde vs Uddhav Thackeray rift, because of which, they can’t see us,” Desai added.
The theatre owner further said that Pathaan’s actual numbers can come after matinee shows, as they are also skeptical about the film’s business at the box office. Looks like, the film’s box office numbers on day 1 will be surprising for all.
