Pak yet to show sincerity on 26/11, China tried to change status quo: What all did MEA say in its annual report

In its 345-page annual report, India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) emphasised Pakistan’s failure to provide justice to the families of the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.
The paper, which was created by the ministry’s Policy Planning Division, also called attention to Pakistan’s ongoing acts of cross-border terrorism, infiltration, and arms smuggling into India over the Line of Control and International Border.
“Pakistan is yet to show sincerity in delivering justice to the families of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. India has consistently stressed the need for Pakistan to take credible, irreversible, and verifiable action to end cross-border terrorism,” the MEA report stated.
In bilateral, regional, and global forums, India has consistently brought up the subject of Pakistan’s ongoing support for transnational terrorism and has provided reliable information about the terrorists who have been apprehended as having Pakistani origin.
The MEA assessment highlighted Pakistan’s involvement in “hostile propaganda to demonise India and divert attention from its domestic political and economic failings” in addition to cross-border terrorism.
According to the report, India has categorically rejected all actions and declarations made by Pakistan about issues that are entirely internal to India, including Jammu and Kashmir.
An in-depth analysis of India’s foreign policy and relations with other nations can be found in the MEA’s yearly report.
The report’s criticism of Pakistan is a reflection of the relationship between the two nations, particularly in light of the terrorism situation. The MEA’s study indicates that there is little hope for improvement in the foreseeable future despite sporadic initiatives to restore ties, such as the most recent ceasefire accord along the Line of Control.
The ministry has also mentioned the bilateral relations between India and China. The ministry said that China unilaterally tried to change the status quo of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Such efforts have been made continuously from the Chinese side. Due to this, India-China bilateral relations have been affected.
As per reports, China has made several attempts since April-May 2020 to unilaterally change the status quo on the LAC in the western sector. Due to this peace was disturbed at LAC. The Ministry of External Affairs also said that its efforts of China were always given a strong and appropriate response from India.
As per the report, both sides (India and China) have agreed that till the final settlement of the border dispute, peace has to be maintained in the border areas. This is a very essential basis for the overall development of bilateral relations. Both sides have agreed to resolve the issues on LAC in Eastern Ladakh through peaceful dialogue.
Discussions are on with the Chinese side for complete disengagement from all friction points and full restoration of peace and tranquillity in the India-China border areas at the earliest. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India maintains its engagement with China through both diplomatic and military channels to resolve the outstanding issues at the earliest so that peace and tranquillity in the border areas can be restored.
