Oscars 2023: The 95th Academy Awards will be held Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel – his third time onstage – and his first since 2018. While India’s entry RRR is running in the Best Song nomination for Naatu Naatu, Everything Everywhere All at Once is leading with a massive eleven nominations. This year will also see Pathaan star Deepika Padukone as one of the presenters on the show, alongside the likes of Hugh Grant, Salma Hayek, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, Dwyane Johnson, Zoe Saldana and Jonathan Majors. India at the Oscars
This is a big year for India. After making their presence felt across international award shows, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is in the running for Oscars. RRR has received an Oscar nomination for Naatu Naatu in Best Original Song category. Other nominees in the category include Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Pather Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
However, that is not the only nomination India has. Shaunak Sen, Aman Mann and Teddy Leifer’s All That Breathes has been nominated under the Documentary Feature Film category, while Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga’s The Elephant Whisperers have made it to the Documentary Short Film nomination list.
