Not spoken to party high command, Ashok Gehlot: Sachin Pilot over reports citing ‘demands’

Congress MLA Sachin Pilot,  refuted claims that he has spoken to the party high command regarding the CM post in Rajasthan. Pilot said that he has spoken neither with the party’s high command nor with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot regarding the latter’s decision to contest the Congress presidential polls and the probable CM- face in Rajasthan.
Earlier, reports suggested that Pilot has told the party high command in New Delhi that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot should not continue to hold the CM post if he decides to contest the elections for party president’s post.
Reports had also cited sources as saying that Pilot is in constant touch with other MLAs apart from supporting MLAs. “He has further asked his supporters to wait for the high command’s decision,” sources said, adding, “Sachin Pilot has told the Congress high command that Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot should not remain CM if he decides to contest for the party president post & that it is his responsibility to bring MLAs together.”
Sachin Pilot camp tight-lipped
Congress MLAs supporting Sachin Pilot for Chief Minister’s post reached his residence in Jaipur on Tuesday, but have remained tight-lipped about the developments in his camp. Commenting on the developments, MLA Khiladi Lal Bairwa said that the party’s top leadership is restructuring the organisation for the 2023 elections and it is only the top leadership that will decide the CM face of Rajasthan.Rajasthan has been staring at a massive political turmoil after Gehlot, while agreeing to file nomination for the Congress president post, reportedly demanded that the next CM in Rajasthan should be ‘approved’ by him.
“We briefed Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi about work done so far regarding Congress president elections. Elections will happen as per schedule. Till now nominations forms have been taken by Shashi Tharoor and Pawan Bansal,” Congress central election authority chairman M Mistry said
