In a recent meeting held with major e-commerce players, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs instructed to pull off all non-ISI marked products from the portal.
The entire lot of such non-ISI marked, substandard or fake ISI marked items, especially helmets and pressure cooker must be withdrawn from the portal.
Centre is likely to issue a formal order for this, this week.
After the release of formal order, if the e-commerce portals found selling of such poor-quality items, may face severe financial penalties.
The consumer affairs ministry held an important meeting with the e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and several others on this issue.
Sources indicated that in the meeting, the Govt issued clear directions that such non-ISI items has to be immediately withdrawn from their respective platforms.
