Neiphiu Rio sworn in as Chief Minister of Nagaland for fifth time; PM Modi present at ceremony

 NDPP leader Neiphiu Rio was sworn in as Chief Minister of Nagaland for the fifth time . He was administered the oath of secrecy by Governor La Ganesan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the ceremony in Kohima. BJP president JP Nadda and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present at the event.
“Honoured and humbled to be sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Nagaland in the presence of the Hon’ble @PMOIndia Shri @narendramodi ji, Hon’ble @HMOIndiaShri @AmitShah ji, Shri @JPNadda and other dignitaries and well-wishers in attendance,” the Chief Minister wrote on Twitter, sharing pictures from the ceremony.
Taditui Rangkau Zeliang and Yanthungo Patton took oath as Deputy chief ministers of the state. Other members of the Rio cabinet also took oath.
Among those who were sworn-in as members of the council of ministers were – State BJP chief Temjen Imna Along, famous for his sense of humour and witty posts on social media across the country and Salhoutuonuo Kruse, one of the two women elected to Nagaland Assembly for the first time.
In the recently-held Nagaland polls, the NDPP-BJP coalition won 37 seats in the 60-member Assembly. All other parties in the state subsequently extended their letters of support to the Rio-led alliance.
Since the beginning of the election campaign, both NDPP and BJP had projected 72-year-old Rio as their chief ministerial candidate.
