Nayab Singh Saini was unanimously selected as the leader of the Haryana BJP Legislative Party on Wednesday and will be sworn in as the Chief Minister tomorrow. The announcement was made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a ceremony held at the BJP office in Panchkula. Among those present were Saini’s predecessor, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Haryana BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan, and co-incharge Biplab Deb.
Saini Thanks the People of Haryana
Saini expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana for their trust in the BJP’s leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He highlighted the significance of forming a BJP government for the third consecutive time in the state, an unprecedented achievement in Haryana’s history.
“The people have resolved to carry forward Prime Minister Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047,” Saini said.
BJP’s Historic Win in Haryana Assembly Elections
Despite unfavorable exit polls, the BJP managed to secure its best-ever result in Haryana, winning 48 out of 90 Assembly seats. The Congress, which had been hoping for a comeback, secured 37 seats. This marks the first time a party has won three consecutive terms in Haryana’s political history.
Swearing-In Ceremony on Thursday
Saini is set to meet Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattareya to stake his claim to form the government. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday at the Parade Ground in Panchkula. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CMs from other BJP-ruled states, and party leaders are expected to attend the event.
