Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has given the strongest hint possible at wanting to play in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by declaring his intention to play his final T20 game in Chennai.
Speaking at CSK’s IPL 2021 title celebrations, Dhoni said, “I have always planned my cricket, my last home ODI game was in Ranchi. Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai.”
The CSK skipper then joked, “Whether it is next year or in five years time, we don’t really know.”
Dhoni will be CSK’s first-choice retention if he doesn’t retire. All existing eight franchisees have the option to retain a maximum of four players before the mega-auction. The announcement is expected at the end of this month.
