An anonymous caller made eight calls at Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai, issuing life threats to billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family, according to Mumbai Police.
A man was taken into custody by the Mumbai police for issuing threats to Ambani and his family, as per reports.
The man had made multiple threat calls on a landline number at the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai’s Girgaon this morning. As per media reports, he had used many names, one of them being Afzal.
The threat call incident is reminiscent of the high-octane probe that began last year after a car with gelatin sticks, used for making explosives, was found outside the Ambani residence on February 25.
In the incident reported to the police by Reliance Foundation hospital on Monday, a threat call was made on the display number of the hospital, said police, according to a reporting Mumbai-based news daily Mid-Day.
“We have received a complaint from the hospital and we are verifying the same. It appears that the call has been made on the display number of the hospital,” a senior officer of Mumbai police told the paper.
Dr Tarang Gianchandani CEO, Reliance Foundation Hospital told Mid-Day that total 8 calls were made in which life threats were issued to Reliance Industries chairman and this family by the unknown caller.
