Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state will become a $550 billion economy by Financial Year 2027-28 to support Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a $5 trillion economy.
Chouhan said that the state has the capability and the appropriate infrastructure needed to meet the goal.
“For investment, we have good infrastructure, ample land, water, 24×7 power and skilled manpower. Our policies are investors friendly. The Prime Minister said to make India a $5 trillion economy and for that MP will become a $550 billion dollar economy,” CM Chouhan was reported saying by ANI.
According to a background paper published among a small number of MPs, yearly economic growth of 6.5 percent with inflation of less than 5 percent for the next five years is critical to the federal government’s lofty goal of making India a $5 trillion economy.
The study outlines 16 important elements that will propel the economy past the economic growth rates of Germany and the United Kingdom.
The November document cited International Monetary Fund (IMF) predictions that India will become a $5 trillion economy in 2027-28.
Meanwhile, speaking at the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas’ where External Affairs Minister, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar also spoke along with several other union ministers, Chouhan urged the NRIs to invest in the state and act as ambassadors.
“Every year in Madhya Pradesh, we will celebrate the pride day of cities and villages, you should come to your village or city on that day and give your contribution. You should participate in Global Investors Summit. You must invest in Madhya Pradesh and inspire others. If you have come to Madhya Pradesh then you must explore it,” the Chief Minister told the NRIs present at the event.
