MP Home Minister calls out Adipurush makers for ‘offensive portrayal of Hanuman’; says change or face legal action

The anticipation and excitement for Prabhas-starrer Adipurush were quite high ever since it was announced. But it all went down the drain as soon as the teaser for the film was dropped recently as it left the audience disappointed.
Soon after the teaser was shared, it became the target of trolls and negative comments. Netizens took to social media to express their anger with the movie’s CGI, VFX, and costumes. Nothing in the video seemed to impress the viewers in the slightest.
Even though it has only been two days since it came out, it appears that Adipurush has once again landed in hot water, and this time it is the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra voicing his anger.
In a video that was shared recently, he can be seen talking about the way Hanumanji was dressed in the film. Mishra says that the Lord was shown wearing leather clothes while the description of his appearance is clearly given in the Hanuman Chalisa. He then recites the specific lines from it.
“There are objectionable scenes in the teaser. Such scenes hurt religious sentiments. I am writing to maker Om Raut to remove these scenes. If he does not agree, there will be legal action,” said the Home Minister.
As mentioned, even viewers have been outraged over the portrayal of the Gods in the film. Many have made posts calling out the creators claiming that they might haven’t even read the Ramayana.
Comparisons are being made with Lord Hanuman from Ramanand Sagar’s serial Ramayan to Adipurush. Makers were asked to take cues from “the best” ever made where Hanuman wasn’t sporting a beard or a mustache, and wore garland, armlets, janeu, and bracelets (Kadha)
“He loves vermilion and saffron, he would have never dressed in black and white. Hanuman ji has the poise of knowledge on their face,” wrote another user.
Meanwhile, it isn’t just Dr. Narottam Mishra, but several other religious leaders have also voiced their opinions on the same, most of them strongly condemning the way Ramayana was adapted into this live-action
