Trouble mounts more for Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, as one of his close aides, Dinesh Arora has reportedly turned into a government witness. Dinesh Arora is one of the co-accused in the alleged scam in a liquor excise duty case.
According to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Dinesh Arora has agreed to become a government witness in the liquor policy case. Last week, businessman Dinesh Arora was granted bail by a Delhi court and CBI had not opposed the move.
CBI filed a petition in a Delhi court and stated that businessman will be their witness in the liquor excise duty case.
As per the premier investigation agency, Arora cooperated with the officials and gave key information, which helped them in the ongoing probe.
According to the CBI’s charges, Arora reportedly received illicit profits from liquor licences and also distributed illegal perks. He is one of numerous people implicated in the overall case.
Arora is also accused of receiving a bribe of Rs 1 crore from businessman Sameer Mahendru. Dinesh Arora had already been questioned at least eight times by the CBI, and in September, he filed an anticipatory bail plea with the Supreme Court.
CBI did not oppose the bail and claimed that Arora provided vital leads in the case of some public workers, which influenced the entire policy and the contentious components surrounding it.
