Man who redefined Test cricket: BCCI secretary Jay Shah hails Virat Kohli on playing landmark 100th Test

Team India’s talismanic batter Virat Kohli became only the 12th player from his country to play his 100th Test match as he took the field against Sri Lanka on Friday, March 4. Kohli was felicitated by the head coach Rahul Dravid before the start of the game for the special achievement where he presented him a specially designed cap for his landmark game.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter to praise the former skipper Kohli’s dedication, passion and determination while labelling him as the ‘man to redefine Test cricket’.
“His journey has been a union of emotion, passion, dedication and determination. To the man who redefined Test cricket and infused it with fresh life, congratulations @imVkohli on this landmark Test. Let’s come together and celebrate #VK100,” Shah wrote.
In a special felicitation ceremony head coach, Rahul Dravid praised Kohli saying, “When you started out as a kid you must have wanted to play one Test for India, you stand here on the cusp of your 100th. It’s a testament to everything that is great in our sport… sweat, discipline, courage, skill, determination, desire, focus, you had it all. You had a great journey. You can be very proud of not only playing the 100th Test match but also for the great journey that you have navigated through.”
Kohli became the 12th Indian player to achieve the milestone and joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Kapil Dev, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Ishant Sharma in the elite list.
