In a shocking news, Bollywood actor Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora has reportedly died by suicide. As per latest reports, Anil Arora jumped off the terrace of his Bandra home on September 11. The incident happened around 10: 30 am.
While the police officials arrived at the scene soon after the mishap, the reason behind the tragedy remains unclear since no suicide note has been recovered. Mumbai Police has confirmed the news, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem to Bhabha Hospital and the investigation is underway. “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide, but we are probing the incident from all angles. A process to file an accidental death report is on,” the officer from Bandra police informed.
Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora inconsolable after father’s demise
When the incident happened, Malaika was in Pune for one of her projects. However the latest video clips from the location shows that the actor has reached Mumbai. She looked visibly distraught and heartbroken as she stepped out of her car to rush inside her mother’s residence.
Amrita Arora was also spotted with her husband Shakeel Ladak. The younger sister was wiping off her tears as she arrived home.
Ex-husband Arbaaz Khan, Arjun Kapoor pay visit
While details of the incident are awaited, Malaika’s ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was also spotted outside her home. In a video, which is being widely shared on social media platforms, Khan is seen talking to the police officials to understand the situation.
Hours after the demise, several other including Malaika’s close friend and actor Arjun Kapoor and other industry friends including Sohail Khan, Salim Khan, Salma Khan, Sophie Choudhary were seen paying a visit to her parent’s home.
A look at Malaika’s family
Malaika’s father was a Punjabi Hindu, who hailed from a town named Fazilka. Her mother Joyce Polycarp, on the other hand, is a Malayali Christian. In an interview earlier, the actor had shared that she was only 11 when her parents parted ways. “My parents’ separation allowed me to observe my mother through a new and unique lens. I learned a rock-steady work ethic and the value of getting up each morning to do whatever it takes to become fiercely independent. Those early lessons are the cornerstones of my life and professional journey. I am still fiercely independent; I value my freedom and live life on my terms,” she had stated.
After the separation, though Malaika and her younger sister Amrita were primarily raised by their mother, they shared an equally close bond with father Anil, who was in the Merchant Navy. After the separation, her mother relocated from Thane to Chembur with both daughters.
Anil reportedly was not keeping well for quite sometime. In fact, he was visited by Malaika and her mother in a hospital last year, where he was admitted for an undisclosed cause.
