Nikita Porwal from the state of Madhya Pradesh has emerged out as the winner of Miss India 2024. The 18-year-old was crowned by Nandini Gupta, who won the title last year. Actor Neha Dhupia was also present on the occasion and helped in putting the sash on Nikita. She will now represent the country at Miss World Beauty pageant.
Among others who marked their presence at event were Raghav Juyal, Sangeeta Bijlani and Anusha Dandekar, filmmaker Anees Bazmee, choreographer Bosco Martis and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. .While Dandekar was part of the jury, Bijlani raised the entertainment quotient by walking the ramp to cheer everyone.
A total of 30 contestants representing 29 states and 1 Union Territory competed for the coveted title. Among them, Rekha Pandayy, representing Union Territories was the first runner up whereas Ayushi Dholakia from Gujarat secured third position at the annual beauty pageant. The 60th Miss India contest was organised on October 16 at Famous Studios in Mumbai.
Who is Nikita Porwal?
Nikita Porwal comes from Ujjain and has always been interested in her town’s culture and heritage. She did her schooling from Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School and is currently pursuing higher education at Baroda’s Maharaja Sayajirao University. She lives by the motto – “Be a life that matters, a loss that’s felt,” reported Femina.
Nikita also hold love for theatre and has performed in more than 60 plays. She is a passionate story-teller too and has written a 250-page play titled ‘Krishna Leela’.
Nikita has always been influenced by Bollywood actor and beauty pageant winner Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
