The name of the first team that qualifies for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be confirmed as the top two sides — Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans — lock horns at the MCA Stadium in Pune today.
Little had the fans expected that the two newcomers would be riding the points table at the absolute top. Though both the teams have had a few hiccups, they are well on course to finish the league stage among the top four sides. The bigger objective, however, would be to finish among the top two sides.
At this venue neither LSG not GT have faced a defeat yet, having won two games apiece. When the two teams met last time around the Titans had emerged victorious. While the match-up offers a few great duels, the one which fans would be most curious to see will be between KL Rahul and Rashid Khan.
Hardik Pandya himself would hop to put in a better show with the bat, having disappointed in the last two games. Whether he gets to bowl in this match or not, will surely be among the biggest talking points.
