Loved Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan’s viral selfie from Ponniyin Selvan I sets? Here’s the story behind it!

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I is all set to release on September 30 (Friday). Ahead of the film’s release, the actors are going above and beyond to promote the upcoming period drama. Trisha Krishnan, who essays a pivotal role in the film, has now opened up about her viral photo with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
A few days ago, Trisha posted a photo on social media, wherein she and Aishwarya were clicking a selfie on the sets. The actresses looked regal, dressed in their characters’ avatars.
Trisha has now said that she got to meet Aishwarya on the first day of the shoot itself. Sharing that Aishwarya was already familiar with Mani Ratnams’ team, Trisha heaped praise on her co-star for being friendly. Trisha added that they hit off almost instantly and revealed what filmmaker Mani Ratnam told them about their equation.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actress revealed that the viral photo was clicked on the day their face-off scene was shot. “Although on day one, we just had probably two shots and then there is so much hype about the face-off scene and the whole unit was gearing up for that. But by then what had happened was we already hit off and chatted a lot so for that particular scene, Mani sir saw both of us like yapping away and he was like listen, guys, this is a really complicated scene shooting over for two days. So we appreciate it if you guys don’t spend time with each other. And that selfie happened on the day of the face-off scene and we just clicked for memories. And you know someone from the unit captured it,” she has been quoted saying.
The upcoming Tamil film has been produced by Mani Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. Interestingly, the film marks the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name. Apart from Trisha and Aishwarya, the film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban in key roles.
