KK death: PIL demanding CBI probe in singer’s demise filed in Calcutta HC

Celebrated Indian singer KK passed away on May 31. He was 53. The singer breathed his last in Kolkata, where he had performed at a college event hours before his death.
Two PILs have now been filed in Calcutta High Court demanding a further probe into KK’s death. The Calcutta HC has allowed a petitioner to file a petition over the untimely death of KK. The petitioner has south CBI probe into the singer’s death. The petition is likely to be filed today.
A second PIL has also been filed in Calcutta High Court demanding further investigation of singer KK’s death by an independent agency. The petitioner has alleged that there was mismanagement at his final concert. The petitioner has reportedly mentioned the negligence of the college as well, where KK performed his final concert.
The Kolkata Police earlier received the final post-mortem and chemical analysis reports of the later singer-songwriter Krishnakumar Kunnath on Saturday. Both the reports cited the cause of death as “myocardial infarction”.
KK, who performed his final concert on May 31, passed away hours after his performance. The singer reportedly felt uneasy after the concert and was taken back to his hotel room, where he collapsed. The singer was rushed to the hospital soon after.
The news of his demise sent shockwaves across the nation with many including Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourning his death. Several celebrities from the film industry also took to social media to share posts in the loving memory of KK. Akshay Kumar, Vishal Dadlani, Karan Johar, Arshad Warsi, Anushka Sharma and more celebs had taken to social media to pay their last respects
