Karan Johar says ‘goodbye Twitter’ to make space for more positive energies; gets trolled: ‘You won’t be missed’

While different social media platforms give us a way to know our favourite celebrities better, these platforms also give people a chance to say whatever they want to without thinking about the consequence. Because of the latter, many celebs get trolled online every now and then.
Popular filmmaker Karan Johar, who often takes over the web with his unmissable posts, has decided to quit Twitter. Yes, you read it right.
Taking to the micro-blogging site earlier today, he wrote, “Making space for more positive energies only and this is step one towards that. Goodbye Twitter!”
As soon as Karan shared this tweet, many took to the comment section to troll the filmmaker. One use wrote, “You won’t be missed.” Another one commented, “Thank you for saving me- twitter.”
Meanwhile, Karan has often talked about social media trolling. During an episode of Koffee With Karan season 7, the filmmaker-producer said that it doesn’t bother him when people say nasty things about him. However, he does get affected when trolls target his twins – Yash and Roohi.
He said, “I built some kind of thick skin over the years. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me the way people think it should bother me when I read stuff that is completely putrid, awful. They come down to even abusing my kids. Those are times when I feel like f***, just leave them out of it. I’m like, you can say whatever you want about me, my sexuality or about all the conspiracy theories they have that are really down and dirty. It really doesn’t bother me and it’s not like I have not been in therapy and I haven’t had issues in the past.”
On the movie front, Karan’s recent production venture, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, has turned out to be a massive blockbuster hit. The Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2022.
Karan is now directing Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The upcoming release also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
