The Kannada film industry has been on a rise for sometime now! With films like KGF and Kantara giving star-studded Bollywood movies a run for their money at the box office, the Kannada film industry definitely looks promising.
Kannada megastar Yash, who shot to nationwide fame following KGF, recently shared his thoughts on the same. Aside from discussing his films and sharing his take on the box office, the actor talked about the change in attitude that the audience has had towards Kannada film industry in recent times.
During the same event, the host brought up the Kannada film Kantara, which has been receiving positive reviews from the audience and performing well at the box office. “As we speak, Kantara, your new film… not your film but a Kannada film is making waves. High praise, and again a low-budget film that’s making a lot of money. What is it in Bengaluru’s air? It seems like ‘Namma Karnataka’ is the buzzword at the moment,” the host questioned.
However, rather than answering the question first, Yash remarked that Kantara was also his film since he is from the same state. “Sir, it (Kantara) is also my film. You said it’s not my film but it is my film also,” the KGF star replied.
Fans absolutely loved how Yash treated Rishab Shetty’s film as if it was his own considering the fact that they are from the same film industry.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Yash released a sequel to his popular movie KGF: Chapter 1 earlier this year. The series’ second installment became the third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide, the second highest-grossing film in India and highest grossing Indian film of 2022. As of now, the third part of the series is in the works.
Rishab Shetty, on the other hand, is slated to star in Bell Bottom 2, Mahaniyare Mahileyare, Antagoni Shetty and Bachelor Party.
