Kanpur Lamborghini crash case: Tobacco tycoon KK Mishra’s son Shivam Mishra arrested

The Uttar Pradesh Police , arrested Kanpur Tobacco tycoon KK Mishra’s son Shivam Mishra in connection with the Lamborghini crash case. According to reports, he will be produced before the court shortly. The incident took place around 3 pm on February 8 on the city’s upscale VIP Road, leading to a heated debate over who was driving the car at the time of the crash.

Six injured in Kanpur Lamborghini crash

At least six people were injured when a Lamborghini Revuelto, a luxury Italian sports car worth Rs 10 crore, hit the pedestrians and damaged multiple vehicles before coming to a halt. Shivam Mishra’s name was registered later in the FIR, but his family and lawyer initially claimed that the Lamborghini was being driven by their driver, Mohan. Police, however, reviewed the CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts stating that Mishra was in the driver’s seat.

“I was driving when he suddenly collapsed on me,” says Mohan

An e-rickshaw driver named Mohd Taufeeq (18), who was one of the injured, filed an FIR following the crash. The Kanpur Lamborghini case took a dramatic twist when Mohan, the designated driver, told reporters outside a court that Shivam was seated beside him when he suddenly suffered a seizure before the impact.

“I was driving when he suddenly collapsed on me. I panicked and tried to hold him with one hand. The car first hit a three-wheeler, climbed the divider, and then stopped,” Mohan was quoted as saying. He added that the car’s automatic locking system held him back, so he shifted Shivam to the driver’s seat before stepping out.

Cops say evidence places Shivam in the spotlight

According to reports, Mohan appeared before the court on Wednesday to formally surrender, but it was not accepted. Despite the claim, police said the evidence places Shivam at the centre of focus. Meanwhile, senior officers also said that the video evidence from the scene allegedly shows bystanders pulling Shivam from the driver’s seat following the crash. The luxury car has been seized for forensic examination.
