Kangana Ranaut is currently immersed in the making of her second directorial venture, Emergency. The political drama has remained in the limelight since Kangana’s first look as Indira Gandhi was unveiled. Now, as per the latest update, the actress-director has been diagnosed with severe dengue.
In a social media post shared by the official handle of Manikarnika Films, Kangana’s production house, the Queen actress has a high fever and ‘alarmingly low’ white blood cell count. However, in spite of not being in the best of health, Kangana showed up on the set of Emergency and continued her work like a thorough professional.
“When you are down with dengue, alarmingly low white blood cell count and high fever and yet you land at work, it’s not passion it’s madness… our chief @kanganaranat is such an inspiration,” said Manikarnika Films via Instagram Stories along while sharing a picture of Kangana.
In the image, the National Award-winning actress is seen working on a laptop with a shawl wrapped around her shoulders.
Besides starring Kangana as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Emergency also features Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan and Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Welcoming Anupam on-board the much-awaited film, Manikarnika Films wrote, “If there is darkness there is light if there is Indira there is JayPrakash…. Presenting @anupampkher as the people’s hero, Lok Nayak JayPrakash Narayan. #Emergency”

Kangana, who was last seen in Dhaakad, has been regularly posting updates from the set of Emergency. Unveiling her first look, she said, “Presenting #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of the most powerful and controversial women in the history of the world…”
Emergency is slated to release in 2023.
