Kangana Ranaut calls Will Smith ‘bigda hua Sanghi’ after latter slapped Chris Rock, posts pics of him doing puja

The 2022 Oscar ceremony may have had several highlights but Will Smith’s heated moment of slapping Chris Rock during his comic presentation became the talk of the town. Many celebs in India reacted to the incident that received international attention due to the severity of the action. Though many condemned the I Am Legend actor for his “uncouth” reaction, Kangana Ranaut lauded Will Smith for the same.
On Monday, she shared an Insta Story and wrote that if someone joked about her mother or her sister’s illness she would do the same. Further calling it, “Bas a** move…hope he comes to my #lockup”
The actress, today, March 29, shared a collage of four pictures of Will Smith. In the first two photos, the Aladdin actor was seen doing puja. In the third one, he was seen posing with spiritual leader Sadhguru and the fourth one was a snippet of Will slapping Chris.
Atop the post, the Manikarnika actress called will “Sanghi like her” (someone who is a member of the Indian right-wing organisation RSS).
She wrote, “Hence proved Will is Sanghi… woh bhi bigda hua like me.”
Before presenting the nominees for Best Documentary at the 94th Academy Awards, Chris Rock shared a few jokes and asked actress Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife, about GI Jane 2, referring to her baldness. Jada had earlier revealed that has alopecia areata, which is a hair loss condition.
While the audience laughed, Jada rolled her eyes, and soon Will was seen approaching the stage and seconds later smacked Chris. Minutes later, Will received his first Oscar award for Best Actor for the film King Richard and during his speech he apologised to the Academy for being violent, although he did not take Chris’ name.
On Tuesday, Will took to Instagram to formally apologise to Chris by name. A part of his note read, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”
