The first phase of polling in Bihar began at 7 a.m. on Thursday for 121 seats in 18 districts. Meanwhile, Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav votes in Patna with his family. After casting his vote, Lalu declared, “There will be change. It’s just a matter of time.” Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu’s son and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, voted along with his wife Rajshree Yadav. “On November 14, things will change. A new government will be formed,” he stated confidently.

Fate of Lalu’s Two Son to Be Tested

The fate of several heavyweight candidates will be tested on Thursday. Among them is Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate of the grand alliance. Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of Lalu Prasad, is also contesting from Mahua. After being kicked out of the RJD, Tej Pratap founded a new party. ‘Janashakti Janata Dal’ is the name given to it. In Bihar, his party has put forward candidates for 21 seats. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared it a “festival of democracy” on social media on Thursday morning.

Mother Wishes Her Two Son

Rabri Devi, Lalu’s wife and former Bihar chief minister, was also at the polling station in the morning. She extended best wishes to her two children. “My best wishes go to my two sons, Tejashwi and Tej Pratap. I am their mother. Tej Pratap is fighting independently. My best wishes for both of them. At the same time, I encourage the people of Bihar to exercise their right to vote.”

This is the first poll in Bihar since the SIR. The Election Commission claims that strict security measures have been implemented for the first phase of voting. The entire election will be conducted in a fair manner. In total, 45,000 booths will vote during this phase. So far, there are no reports of any disturbance.
