Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar director Mansoor Khan says never called Akshay Kumar ‘c**p’, reveals why he rejected actor for his film

Akshay Kumar is one of the most celebrated artists in Bollywood. Be it romance, action or comedy, the National Film Award-winning actor has showcased his acting prowess in different genres. Earlier this year, Khiladi Kumar completed 30 successful years in the Hindi film industry. The Padman actor, who has featured in some of the biggest hits in his illustrious career, had auditioned for Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar. Yes, you read that right!
Akshay Kumar, in an interaction with a journalist, had revealed that he failed to crack the audition for the hit film starring Aamir Khan and Ayesha Jhulka. The Sooryavanshi star had said that he was rejected after the screen test as he was ‘crap’.
His throwback interview is going viral on the internet ahead of release of Prithviraj. While Akshay Kumar had said that the makers removed him as they didn’t like his audition, director Mansoor Khan has now claimed that he never said that the actor was ‘crap’.
What Mansoor Khan said about rejecting Akshay Kumar?
Calling Akshay’s remark ‘condescending’, the director said that he rejected him as he was ‘very very wooden’. Mansoor, while talking to a portal, expressed his displeasure with the Housefull actor’s comment and said that he was surprised to know what Akki said about him.
What Akshay has said about him being thrown out of ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander’ surprised me. I am sorry I rejected him. But I am amazed at the career that he has. At the time that we screen-tested him, he was very very wooden. He had a great physique. But that’s it. The way he has spoken about being rejected is very derogatory and condescending. Akshay had even called me after being rejected saying. ‘Let’s work together.’ I never said he was crap,” he was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
What’s next for Akshay Kumar?
On the work front, the actor will be next seen in YRF’s Prithviraj. The historical action drama is slated to hit the silver screens on June 3, 2022. The much-awaited flick also stars Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in key roles.
Akshay Kumar has several other exciting projects in his kitty including Selfiee, Ram Setu and Raksha Bandhan.
