Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan declares ‘no legal evidence was collected’ post her daughter’s demise

Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi is yet again making headlines for his involvement in the Jiah Khan suicide case. Yesterday (August 18) Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan testified in court and revealed that Sooraj had abused Jiah physically and mentally. Rabia even brought up Sooraj’s name during the court proceeding and charged him with aiding in her daughter’s suicide.
Reportedly, Rabia testified before the special court that neither the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) nor the police had gathered any “legal evidence” to support the suicide of her daughter. She also stated before the court that she thought it was a murder case rather than a suicide.
Jiah’s mother recoded her testimony before special judge A S Sayyad. She described how she discovered her daughter hanging with a dupatta around her neck. After a 10-minute wait, she dialed actress Anju Mahendroo, who immediately arrived, untied her neck, and lay her on the bed. The moment the doctor got there, he pronounced her dead. Rabia even claimed that an officer had examined the crime site and declared that it appeared that foul play had taken place.
She alleged, “Within two hours of the passing away of my daughter, they had already declared it as a suicide. I suspect that the movement of her body from Cooper Hospital to J J Hospital was done with mala fide intention,” she alleged.
Later, Rabia recalled that Jiah Khan’s possessions, including her phone, had been removed by the police. She admitted that she had received multiple angry and abusive messages from Sooraj, as well as missed calls from him. When they arrived at the police station, Jiah’s phone had already been unlocked, despite the fact that the police had called her other daughter to unlock Jiah’s phone. She added that her phone had lost a lot of images and messages.
Rabia was questioned by special public prosecutor (CBI) Manoj Chandlan whether she wanted to add anything else after her evidence ended. She said, “Both the agencies (police and CBI) never collected any legal evidence to prove it was a case of suicide. I believe it is a murder and the accused is responsible for killing my daughter.”
