Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has landed into legal controversy recently. The actress has been reportedly identified as an accused by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Rs 215 crore extortion case linked to the alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
The ED also filed a chargesheet against the Ram Setu actress and according to sources, the investigating agency thinks Jacqueline knew that extortionist Sukesh was a conman. The ED also revealed that the key witnesses and defendants have confessed in their statements that the actress used video calls to communicate with the conman.
Recently, while promoting his upcoming movie Dhokha Round D Corner, actor R Madhavan came out in support of Jacqueline Fernandez and said that he hopes she “gets out of trouble soon”.
Madhavan was quoted saying during the event, “I hope she gets out of trouble very soon. I don’t think this is affecting the image of the country. If fact, in our film fraternity, there have been lesser number of tax raids. Everyone is working with full honesty. I don’t think it will affect the industry. Higher taxpayers are from this industry.”
Meanwhile, a few days back, reportedly, an ED source revealed that Sukesh had introduced himself to Jacqueline as the owner of a TV network and a jeweler and also claimed that he was close to Home Minister Amit Shah.
The ED source was quoted as saying by The Print, “She claimed that he met her only twice while he was out of jail on parole. One of these meetings happened in Chennai. Whenever Fernandez would ask for a meeting, he would say he was stuck due to Covid restrictions. This was also the time when Covid struck and there was a lockdown. Then came the second wave (of the pandemic).”
Speaking on the professional front, Jacqueline Fernandez will be next seen featuring in Cirkus and Ram Setu.
