India stamped their ticket to the semi-final of the T20 World Cup as they defeated Zimbabwe by a mammoth 71 runs. The Men in Blue scored 186 runs batting first and the bulk of the credit goes to none other than Suryakumar Yadav who smashed 61 from 25 balls to tilt the match in favour of Team India. The whole ceicketing world including experts and fans sang praises after his tremendous knock. Virender Sehwag too wished him in his unique style.

Legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag, praised Suryakumar Yadav for his ability to hit the ball where he wants on any side of the wicket., that too in a unique poetic style.
“Wherever he wants to direct his shot, even if it’s not the right ball for that, he will make it reach there”, Sehwag said. “He can guide an off stump wide over the wicketkeeper to fine leg for a six. Such shots are next to impossible. But it’s Suryakumar, so it’s possible,” he added
“If he wants to smack it to the covers, it’s Suryakumar, so it’s possible. If it needs to be launched over the bowler, it’s Suryakumar, so it’s possible”, Sehwag further went on to say.
When Suryakumar Yadav came into bat, the Men in Blue had just lost the wicket of the in form Virat Kohli for 26. In fact, he was at the non-striker’s hand, when KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant departed in quick succession, as India lost 3 wickets for just 14 runs after the 60-run partnership for the 2nd wicket by KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. He hit the Zimbabwean bowlers on all sides of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, as he smashed 61 from 25 balls, in an innings studded with 6 fours and four sixes.
Suryakumar Yadav, by virtue of this innings, also became the first Indian and second batter overall to cross 1,000 T20I runs in a single calendar year. He also hit the fourth fastest 50 by an Indian in T20 World Cup history, when he crossed the half-century mark in 23 balls.
