CM Pema Khandu also said that Yangtse is under his assembly constituency and every year he meets the Jawans and villagers of the area.
CM Khandu said on Twitter, “Our brave Indian Army is not answering brick with stone, our brave Indian army is answering brick with iron.”
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajanath Singh said that the Indian Army defended against China’s aggression during December 9 clash in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector. While speaking in the Lok Sabha, Singh also assured that none of the Indian soldiers lost their lives during the clash. He also stated that the Indian government took up the issue with Chinese authorities through diplomatic channels.
On December 9, troops from the Indian and Chinese armies clashed in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh and this led to injuries to a few personnel on both sides.
“On December 9, PLA troops tried to transgress the LAC in the Yangtse area of Tawang Sector and unilaterally change the status quo. The Chinese attempt was contested by our troops in a firm and resolute manner. The ensuing face-off led to a physical scuffle in which the Indian Army bravely prevented the PLA from transgressing into our territory and compelled them to return to their posts,” the Defence Minister said amid a huge uproar by the Opposition over the clash.
Singh also informed the parliament that a flag meeting was held between the Indian and Chinese sides on December 11, regarding the December 9 face-off.
The Defence Minister also asserted that the armed forces are fully capable of defending the Indian territory and are always ready to stop any attempt of transgression at borders.
